DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nJoin award-winning photographer\, Mark Littlejohn\, on his journey from ‘reactive’ to ‘creative’ and see how an old dog can learn new tricks! \n\nWhen Mark first started landscape photography\, he lived near the Eden Valley and the Lake District – both well-known areas of outstanding natural beauty. \n\nHe admits to just wandering around\, pointing his camera in the general direction of all that beauty and pressing the shutter release every now and then. \n\nPeople loved his images and would call him creative. But he always denied this\, saying “I’m not a creative. I’m a reactive”. \n\nHe says this was because he reacted to the beauty around him. He’d never had to look for it. It was just there. \n\nBut when he moved to another outstanding area of beauty\, in the highlands of Scotland\, he was not taking the same pictures. \n\nHe was focussing on small scenes of reeds and kelp. \n\nHad he become creative? Had it been possible to teach an old dog new tricks? \n\nMark is an award-winning photographer based in Wester Ross\, Scotland. His work has been featured in a variety of national magazines and he has also written several articles in relation to landscape photography and his distinctive approach to the genre.

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nLearn to approach Street photography with confidence\, create compelling images and discover your style\, with the talented Caroline Preece! \nMany people who admire Caroline’s Street photography often say\, “I’m not brave enough to do it myself.”  What they don’t realise is that she still gets nervous – just like many other top Street photographers. \nCaroline believes that fear is normal\, but it doesn’t have to stop you! \nIn this talk she will take you on a Street photography journey – you will learn what it is; what makes a great image; some simple technical stuff on how to capture and produce your images; and she will share her thoughts on style. \n\nCaroline will also talk about confidence and share tools and techniques which will help you manage your nerves and enable you to go out and get remarkable photographs. \n\nInspired by her photographer mother\, Caroline grew up immersed in the works of masters like Henri Cartier-Bresson\, Robert Frank\, and Michael Kenna\, whose minimalism influences can be seen in her work. \n\nNow focusing primarily on Urban and Street photography\, she is drawn to human elements\, chance occurrences\, captured moments\, emotions\, stories\, and the surreal. \n\nCaroline’s achievements include the FRAMES magazine digital companion 2020 and 2024; Light & Land exhibition at the Mall Galleries (2024); London Salon of Photography (2024); International Photography Awards Street Category – Highly Commended (2023); and the final shortlist of Landscape Photographer of the Year (2023).

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nTony explains how interesting the content of your images can be\, and that there were never any ‘rules’ in composition. \nConsiderations on the creation of the perfect composition – Tony shows how so much more should go into producing a photograph when looking at the elements of composition. \nExploring further behind this thought process by understanding the artistic design elements that make up an image. \nThese principles hold fast for the art world and sit comfortably within both traditional and contemporary photography. \nWhether it is pictorial\, creative or abstract photography that you shoot\, you should go away with a new view on the content of your photographs. \n\nTony has been working as a professional photographer for over twenty-five years\, winning several awards and accreditations. \nIn 2016\, he started The Light Academy providing photography training\, 1-2-1\, groups  and workshops. \nIn December 2015 he was made a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society for his unique conceptual work on Suprematism within photography. This was followed with the RPS Fellowship of the Year Award in 2016\, for the ‘most outstanding panel of work achieving a Fellowship’.
