SUMMARY:Eileen Rafferty - Learning the Language of a Photograph (Free Talk - World Photography Week)
DESCRIPTION:Eileen couldn’t make last week but we’re delighted to announce that we’ve re-arranged our schedule to feature her this week! Thanks Eileen… \nMaster the language of photography – learn to articulate what makes images work and transform your ability to critique and improve your own. \n(As well as access to the live event\, you will automatically receive a link to the recording\, valid for 28 days) \nAs photographers we love looking at photographs. Quite often we instinctively know what we like and don’t like about an image. But can we articulate this in words? Why is this important? \nUnderstand the key principles used to analyse photographs\, showing how composition\, light\, subject matter\, visual relationships and intention contribute to the success of an image. \nLearn to effectively explain what you like or dislike\, to help you look more deeply at both your own work and that of others. \nEileen Rafferty is an artist whose work combines a lifelong study of photography to create mixed media\, drawings and photographs. She is the Photographer/Videographer for the Montana Museum of Art and Culture in Missoula\, Montana\, and teaches graduate courses in Museum Studies. Eileen is also a freelance videographer/editor and owns a Creative Consulting business guiding clients in nurturing a creative life. She earned her BS in Human Physiology and an MFA in Photography/Film. Her artwork is influenced by Japanese literature and art\, and botanicals from her garden.

She has photographed the Hebridean landscape for more than sixteen years and now owns and runs her own gallery.
