Darkly atmospheric. And black and white is so capable when it comes to adding that little bit of mood\, that atmosphere.’ \nIt’s no coincidence that his favourite movie genre is Noir; ‘Brooding scenes from the mind of Raymond Chandler\, brought to life on the big screen.’  \nHe’s heard others say that often\, if a picture doesn’t work\, they’ll convert it to black and white. He doesn’t agree with this thinking. He’ll share how with some compositions; his mind just automatically converts them to black and white. \nMark’s work often features in national magazines\, he’s also written several articles about landscape photography and his unique approach to it. \nHe’s a previous winner of Take-a-View UK Landscape Photographer of the Year and more recently\, 11 of his images received Judges Commendations\, two Highly Commended and another runner up in the Classic View.

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \n\nEmbark on an icy adventure with Kaisa\, renowned ICM Photographer\, to see the stunning Antarctic and Arctic Circle through her creative lens. \n\nIn this exciting presentation\, Kaisa will be showing work from her home area of the Arctic Circle in Lapland\, Svalbard\, Greenland\, and 3 different locations in the Antarctic. \n\nThe photographic themes she touches on are related to different seasons of Lapland\, the sensitivity of the northern nature and expressing emotions via impressionistic nature photos. \n\nShe is currently working on a personal project called ‘Iceberg Graveyard’ and will share with you how she’s used Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to express her feelings about the sensitive polar regions and the global warming. \n\nKaisa lives in Rovaniemi\, at the Arctic Circle in Lapland\, Finland where she works as a freelance photographer. She has had several solo and group exhibitions\, in Finland\, Sweden\, Denmark and Germany. She also owns and runs her own gallery in Rovaniemi. \n\nKaisa is member of the quarterly ICMPhotomag E-mag publishing team\, a co-founder of ICMPhotomag Network Community and ICM Photo Academy. She teaches courses on ICM photography\, both in person and on-line.

You’ll see he’s captured some of the most famous places – but still manages to create incredibly beautiful\, unique images. \n\nMats work is widely respected and admired. A recent quote from Black + White Photography magazine describes it best:\n‘At first glance\, it’s hard to distinguish whether a Mats Andersson print is a painting or photograph. He blends the abstract with the surreal\, resulting in landscape imagery that can simultaneously evoke feelings of unease\, tranquillity\, forbidding and calm. His style is instantly recognisable\, a dark\, gritty\, analogue look with deep blacks\, a rich grain structure and often plenty of motion\, which contributes to his painterly style.’   \n\n\nMats studied photography at the Industrial Art School in Gothenburg\, followed by a job as Art Director and Photographer in the advertising industry.\n\nSince 1989 he has worked as an AD and Photographer at Concret Advertising in Sweden. She will of course though\, delve deep into Snapseed to showcase what it can do. \nJet was a professional photographer in the corporate\, commercial and beauty sectors for 14 years. She’s now the Creative Director of Jet Black Squares who are on a mission to make photography accessible to everyone – not just those who can afford\, or want\, a ‘big’ camera. \n

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nIn this fascinating Talk\, you’ll learn how rapid advances in Artificial Intelligence are impacting photography and the processing of images. \nIn February last year\, Joe Houghton guided us on a thought-provoking journey into AI and its influence on photography. \nNow\, one year on\, he’ll deliver an update on the current challenges and exciting opportunities presented by the fast-moving world of AI. \nYou’ll discover the impact of AI apps such as Topaz\, On1\, Luminar and DXO as well old favourites like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, who have introduced AI features into their software. \nOnce again\, Joe will give us a lot to think about and hopefully spark some discussion on what is happening around us\, whether we like it or not! \nJoe Houghton is an avid Photographer and Trainer based in Dublin\, Ireland who has a passion for helping others. In the last 4 years he’s delivered over 500 Zoom presentations to Camera Clubs and other organisations worldwide. \nIn the UK he’s a trusted Leader of Talks and Workshops for the Royal Photographic Society and many of their Special Interest Groups. DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the 2 live Sessions\, you will receive links to the recordings\, which will be valid for 28 days from the last Session) \nIn this 2-part course\, Erik will share and explain his extraordinary\, creative ICM images which are heavily influenced by his love of music. \nLearn from Erik as he clarifies the processes he has developed over the last 25 years\, leading to his pre-eminence as one of the few photographers in the world to master its aesthetic in the way he does. \nErik began his artistic career as a musician. He studied at the College of Music in Gothenburg\, Sweden and also conducting under professor Jorma Panula. In 1988 he was a soloist at the Malmö Opera and founded the Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble. \nErik has a deep passion for nature as well as music\, from which his love of photography stems. Rather than being just casual interests\, they are fundamental passions deeply embedded in his DNA. \nHe describes these MPC Tuition Sessions as  ”A dive into ICM – to make music with images”. \nAnd if anyone could be described as ‘The Conductor of Light’ it must be Erik Malm! \nLearn how he makes creative\, lyrical images to expand your own photography’s range and depth. \nCourse dates: Mondays Feb 12th and 19th 2024. \nRecordings valid until 18th March 2024.
