DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nThe Swedish legend has turned his love of wildlife and landscapes into a hugely successful career\, with artistic flair and a love of mono. \nIn the first half of this session\, you’ll gain insights into Mats highly creative images\, including his sources of inspiration and ICM. \n\nIn the second half\, he’ll share his personal photos and stories from his seven trips around the ‘fairy island’ of Iceland. You’ll see he’s captured some of the most famous places – but still manages to create incredibly beautiful\, unique images. \n\nMats work is widely respected and admired. A recent quote from Black + White Photography magazine describes it best:\n‘At first glance\, it’s hard to distinguish whether a Mats Andersson print is a painting or photograph. He blends the abstract with the surreal\, resulting in landscape imagery that can simultaneously evoke feelings of unease\, tranquillity\, forbidding and calm. His style is instantly recognisable\, a dark\, gritty\, analogue look with deep blacks\, a rich grain structure and often plenty of motion\, which contributes to his painterly style.’   \n\n\nMats studied photography at the Industrial Art School in Gothenburg\, followed by a job as Art Director and Photographer in the advertising industry.\n\nSince 1989 he has worked as an AD and Photographer at Concret Advertising in Sweden. Mats is a Leica ambassador in Scandinavia and has published 13 books.

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live sessions\, you’ll receive a link to the recordings\, which will be valid for 28 days after the course ends) \nIn this exciting\, hands-on course\, you’ll discover how to get the most from your smartphone camera and learn to shoot and edit like a pro! \nThese online sessions will be held Tuesday 26th March\, 2nd\, 9th and 23rd April 2024\, 19:00-21:30pm (UK time) and will be recorded for those who can’t attend live. \nPrior to the start\, participants will receive a ‘needs analysis’ to establish their individual needs and expectations from the course. \nThroughout the event\, you’ll be set a series of practical exercises and receive expert feedback\, to help heighten your visual awareness. \nA private Facebook group will be set up and participants can share photographs and comment on each other’s work throughout and beyond the course. \nYou’ll learn to create more dynamic and creative compositions to achieve your own personal style of photography. This can be an intensely personal process\, but for him\, there is no escaping the search for meaning and purpose in his art. \n\nAs a landscape photographer\, Joe seeks to translate his sense of affinity with the natural world through the careful study of texture\, colour\, space and light. \n\nHe also tries to find links with how landscape photography illustrates the environmental issues of our time\, and how ultimately\, we connect with and serve wider society. \n\nA professional photographer since 1980\, Joe is based in North Yorkshire in the UK and has devoted the last 30 years to landscape photography. \n\nHe is an acclaimed thinker on the role of photography\, especially in environmentalism\, and has written countless articles\, many appearing in ‘On landscape’ which he helped co-found. \n\nAn honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society\, he helped form (and was first Chair) of the Landscape Distinctions panel. \n\nRecent books include Scotland’s Mountains; Scotland’s Coast; The Northumberland Coast; This Land; Capability Brown; Humphry Repton; Woodland Sanctuary (with Simon Baxter); Still Time to Wonder (on Fountains Abbey).

He studied at the College of Music in Gothenburg\, Sweden and also conducting under professor Jorma Panula. In 1988 he was a soloist at the Malmö Opera and founded the Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble. \nErik has a deep passion for nature as well as music\, from which his love of photography stems. In some respects\, I wish I’d taken it up sooner\, but in others I’m happy I came to it later. \nIt allowed me to do things the way I wanted to. I live with my wife and dog 150 yards from a beach in a remote corner of the Highlands. I run the occasional workshop\, and the majority of my time is spent doing things that I enjoy. \nMark is a previous winner of the Take-a-View UK Landscape Photographer of the Year\, and during the last few years eleven of his images have received Judges Commendations in the awards\, along with two being highly commended and another image being runner up in the Classic View in 2015. \nHis work has been featured in a variety of national magazines and he has also written several articles in relation to landscape photography and his particular approach to it.
