DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nIn her exciting\, brand-new Talk\, Cherry will share innovative ideas to help you produce unique and inventive photographic Still Life images. \nThose who have been lucky enough to see Cherry before\, will know she has a deep passion for digital photography which she loves to share in an inspiring and accessible way. \nShe enjoys being in control of the whole process; from composing the image\, to taking the shot\, post processing and printing the final photograph\, to see it in all its’ glory! \nIn this live Zoom session\, you’ll learn how to create simple and minimalistic Still Life images using charity shop vases\, bottles\, flowers and plants (both dead and fresh) using natural light. \nYou’ll see how to create these kinds of images in camera and then enhance them in Photoshop. You’ll find out how to add texture and backgrounds and use brushes to create shapes. \nCherry is a renowned Speaker and Competition Judge for many UK based Photography Clubs. \nShe has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and runs Creative Flower Workshops for Permajet and Thames Valley RPS.

DESCRIPTION:Paul is an excellent guide and tutor; most importantly he is one of the best we know at getting you to the right place at the right time! \nPlease email roy@myphotoclub.co.uk for the full itinerary. \nPaul says: – \n“We will start in the capital and we are based in the heart of the old quarter\, a maze of traditional trading streets\, markets and historical buildings. \nFrom Hanoi we head out to the rural locations of Ninh Binh\, Pu Luong and Moc Chou\, where we are likely to be able to see and photograph some of the ethnic minority people. \nNext\, via a short internal flight\, we visit the contrasting Central Region of Vietnam where we stay in both the ancient capital of Hue and the very photogenic and relaxing Hoi An” \nAt either the beginning or end of this tour\, you may choose to extend your trip to enjoy a cruise on the famous Ha Long Bay\, which we can arrange for you. \nPaul is one of the UK’s most successful fine art photographers\, selling photography to hang on people’s walls since becoming a professional in 2003. \nPaul has been Highly Commended in the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year\, has many times featured in Landscape Photographer of the Year and in 2017 won the first of several major awards in the Travel Photographer of the Year competition. \nFor the past eighteen years Paul has been leading three or four photography holidays each year to countries that include Italy\, Morocco\, Iceland\, Myanmar and India. \nWe visit locations specifically because they offer good photo opportunities and spend much longer at any given location than a normal tour because photography can often need that little bit of patience to get the perfect shot. \nIn Vietnam\, there is a good balance between landscape\, people photography and the depiction of a foreign culture. \nPaul says\, “Whilst my background has been in landscape and wildlife photography I have the strongest passion for capturing the character and lifestyle of the Vietnamese people”. \nThere is group education at the beginning of the tour so that clients have an awareness of some creative and compositional ideas as well as a strong technical grounding in how to get the best results. \nPaul is always available on location and the guidance given when alongside someone taking the photographs is probably the most instructive and beneficial.

DESCRIPTION:(As well as access to the live event\, you will receive a link to the recording\, which will be valid for 14 days) \nTim will introduce us to the historical significance of competitions in the art world\, focusing on contemporary photography competitions. \nFrom the Salons of France to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition\, photographers and painters have always competed to find a place for their work. \nHe will discuss many aspects of modern photography competitions\, specifically the Natural Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and book. \nYou will understand the potential advantages and driving forces behind participating in photography competitions. \nTim is a landscape photographer and editor of the landscape photography magazine\, ‘On Landscape’. \nHe uses a mix of film and digital cameras but mostly film in small\, medium\, large sized format. \nPhotography was a childhood interest\, but he left it for computing. He later returned\, captivated by large-format cameras. Despite their cumbersome nature\, he found them empowering\, allowing for greater control and a more deliberate approach to image-making. \nHe believes photography is a tool for self-discovery and a means of deeper connection with the world. By slowing down and paying attention to the details\, you can capture the essence of a moment and relive it through the lens.
