After more than 25 visits to Iceland, Paul has carefully designed an itinerary that takes you beyond the country’s famous tourist hotspots to a landscape of dramatic fjords, vast beaches, powerful waterfalls, remote fishing villages and abandoned industrial sites. With fewer visitors and ever-changing light, the Westfjords offer exceptional photographic conditions at every turn.

With a maximum of just five photographers, this tour is about far more than simply visiting beautiful places. You’ll have the time to respond to the weather, revisit locations at optimum times, and stop whenever an unexpected photographic opportunity appears.

During this 9-night adventure you’ll photograph some of Iceland’s most spectacular landscapes and hidden gems, including:

• Rauðisandur – a vast red-sand beach offering reflections, abstract patterns and dramatic coastal landscapes.
• Dynjandi – one of Iceland’s most magnificent waterfalls.
• The spectacular fjords of Arnarfjörður and Önundarfjörður.
• Remote fishing villages, colourful harbours and dramatic coastlines.
• The atmospheric Djúpavík Herring Factory, one of Iceland’s most fascinating locations for creative and industrial photography.
• Reykjavík’s iconic architecture, including Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa Concert Hall and the Sun Voyager sculpture.

Fitness Level

Most photographic locations involve relatively short walks on level ground. Some optional light scrambling may be required to reach the best viewpoints, but this is not essential. The tour is suitable for photographers with a reasonable level of mobility.
