Discover how to capture and evoke emotions in your photos as Astrid McGechan shares her creative process, techniques, and stunning images.

Astrid believes that photography and emotion go hand in hand, it is no different from any other art form.

So how do we go about capturing or evoking an emotion in our photographs? And how do we know whether we have succeeded?

In this inspiring live Zoom Talk, Astrid will take you on a light-hearted journey through her creative process, and you’ll learn how she captures the emotions of a moment in her work.

You’ll see a selection of her images to illustrate some of her techniques, such as long exposure, multiple exposures, camera movement and deliberate defocusing.

Astrid is a photographer, lecturer, tutor and book author based in Surrey, UK. She is fascinated by landscapes, street life and architecture.

She’s curated several art exhibitions and judged international photography competitions, such as UK Landscape Photographer of the Year. She’s also a Photography Tour Leader for Light & Land.

Her images have been exhibited in the UK and Europe, including the Mall Galleries and OXO Gallery in London and the Horizons Photo Festival in Zingst, Germany and held in private collections in Europe and the US.
